HISTORICAL RELEVANCE
At the beginning of the twentieth century, a refugee from Belomorska Thrace named Kalina Kehayova, lived in the poor village of Jebirogller. Once, Virgin Mary come to her in a dream, saying that a temple was to be built in the area next to the village and named after her. Kalina handed the words of God's mother to her villagers, but nobody paid attention to her. In the past, and Kalina had several times received the prophetic dream until the Virgin Mary promised to give the peasants a sign if they started building the temple. So it happened - at the first sod in the ground was discovered a rolled icon. The second sod had brought the blessed water of a healing spring to the surface. By these signs, the Thracian refugees understood that they were not forgotten by the Lord. and make generous donations for the construction of a temple. They built a wooden chapel, the predecessor of today's monastery. The construction of the Church of the Assumption began in 1938, with the participation of both Christian and Muslim builders. On September 27, 1990 Father Boyan Saraev was assigned to the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother Church. In the spring of 2000, in a dream, Father Boyan Saraev received a personal instruction from Virgin Mary to build a monastery in this place, commemorating the two-thousandth anniversary of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. "This place is holy," she told him, "and here Christians from all over Bulgaria will come to pray for comfort and salvation! I have blessed the well that is in the court of the church. The water will heal all bodily and mental sufferings! You will build a monastery in my name, and I will be the protector of all who live and reside in this city, and will not let trouble and misfortune over those who call my name in faith! " The Uspenie Bogogrodichno monastery was founded in September 2003. The beautiful complex is built in the style of the Bulgarian renaissance monastery architecture and the icons and the frescos are painted with the strict observance of the Orthodox iconographic cannon. During the excavations in the Bishopric Church in Perperikon, pieces of the Holy Cross were found in bronze reliquaries. On December 1, 2002, they were transferred to the "Uspenie Bogogrodichno" temple with a litmus procession with the participation of pious Christians from all over the country. Today, the relic is permanently displayed in the temple for worship.
