DESCRIPTION OF THE RELIGIOUS SITE

DESCRIPTION
Qol, Hebrew word meaning "Voice", living in total financial autonomy, represents a space in which all the "voices" can express themselves in total freedom. The editors saw the addition to the initial six emiliani founders of many other people who, despite living far away, both in Italy and abroad, decided to participate more directly in the life of the magazine. Today this group of people of different nationalities and religions is working, both through the magazine and through the activities of the Cultural Association Qol (born almost ten years), so that interreligious dialogue is not completely silenced by the violence that shakes the our time and that anyway does not intend to surrender to the perverse logic of the "clash of civilizations".
HISTORICAL RELEVANCE
Qol, bi-monthly magazine of theology and interreligious dialogue, was born in Novellara in the summer of 1985 and its first issue dates January 1986. Founded by a small group of lay theologians of Reggio Emilia and Modena, in these thirty years of life, it has carved out its own small but important space in the panorama of the publication of the sector, until today it is a point of reference for those who the Jewish-Christian-Muslim dialogue is at heart. In these three decades there are many prestigious signatures in the field of theology and the world of interreligious and intercultural dialogue that have published articles on QOL.
INTER-RELIGIOUS RELEVANCE
The story of relations between Christians and Jews was, until the middle of the twentieth century, an unbroken chain of radical oppositions founded on the Christian side on the teaching of contempt towards Israel and largely marked by the never healed wound of the separation between the Church and the Synagogue in the first century of the vulgar era. The Qol magazine is fully part of the journey of rediscovery and rapprochement between the Jewish people and the church, a slow and arduous journey on the part of the Christian communities, committed to overcoming deeply prejudiced anti-Jewish attitudes, to rediscover and re-appreciate the Jewish faith. The experience of the relationship with the Jews, characterized not only by studies and readings, but above all by relationships with people, has meant that the experience broadened to dialogue with Muslims, making QOL one of the essential points of reference for those dealing with Interculture and the relationship between religions.
RELIGIOUS INFLUENCE
Qol, together with the magazines Confronti and SeFeR, stands in the wake of the renewal aroused in the Catholic Church by the encyclical of Paul VI Ecclesiam suam (1964), dedicated to dialogue, and by the declaration of Vatican Council II Nostra Aetate (1965) on relations between the Catholic Church and non-Christian religions. After almost two millennia of absolute misunderstandings (mutual), of condemnation without appeal, often of persecution and religious wars, in the last 50 years a new path has been undertaken, under the banner of tolerance and respect. Certainly in the plural panorama of the religious universe, dialogue is difficult, full of emphasis and provocation, of simplification and superficiality, but the effort of Qol, together with many other realities, is to build understanding, mutual listening and knowledge among the different experiences of faith.
