DESCRIPTION OF THE RELIGIOUS SITE

DESCRIPTION

It is aimed at political and cultural leaders and operators of the administrative services for citizens, in the field of health and medicine, at teachers and the at the whole world of education, law enforcement, police officers, the judiciary and the future diplomatic corps in Italy, Europe and in the world. The School will offer them the knowledge, the tools and the methodology necessary to disseminate the patrimony of interreligious and intercultural culture acquired during the attendance of the courses and the permanence at the School of dialogue of Florence, in the Italian public service, in their countries of origin and at an international level.
HISTORICAL RELEVANCE
In the contemporary global context, the "Florentine School of Higher Education for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue" -FSD - aims at offering a longlife cultural experience enriching the knowledge of the religious language, promoting the dialogue between cultures and religions, and fostering the positive and cooperative inclusion and interaction among people belonging to different religious traditions. As a consequence, it enhances the mutual respect and the intercultural collaboration. The interdisciplinary and inclusive nature of the themes that the School develops, inspired by religious, humanistic and socio-psychological disciplines, represents the first of the innovative aspects of this project. The School aims at offering a basic knowledge of the thought, of the history and of the practices of the great religions with in-depth studies on anthropology and concepts of inclusive sociology. All this is achieved through the use of experiential teaching and the use of dialogue and conflict management techniques that stimulate personal growth. The second innovative aspect is the transversal nature of the training. In fact, it is suitable and useful to any kind of professionals working in contact with the public, while its methods can be adapted to more specific sectors, for example divided into categories (public administration, doctors, teachers, journalists, etc.).
INTER-RELIGIOUS RELEVANCE
An essential element of innovation is the involvement of religious leaders with a long and proven experience in the field of interreligious dialogue. The project helps to understand religion in a dimension that is not only an end and a value in itself or even a generator of conflicts, but also considers the aspect of its usefulness for human beings and human society in its entirety, placing it in its original perspective as a promoter of opportunities, personal growth, empathy and glue of social inclusion, a revelation that aims to offer tools and opportunities for the growth of man and of human society.
RELIGIOUS INFLUENCE
In this innovative perspective, the School is working on a project for the creation of a specialized library fund called "The Future Library for Interfaith Study and Dialogue", centered on the relationship between man, revelation and religion and on the history of religions in a comparative anthropological perspective
