DESCRIPTION
The "La Tenda" (The Tent) is a no-profit association offering opportunities for meetings, entertainment, culture and reflection to all citizens, young people, the elderly, children and adults. The environment is characterized by an atmosphere of cordiality and familiarity, where everyone is welcome to take advantage of the activities proposed by the Association.
HISTORICAL RELEVANCE
The main relevance of the “La Tenda” is to be open to all citizens of different culture and religion, in order to spend time together and to take part in voluntary actions, connected to the multiculturalism of Prato city and its surroundings.
INTER-RELIGIOUS RELEVANCE
The “La Tenda” 's activities are varied and range from recreation to culture, from social commitment to debate and reflection. Social dinners, theatrical performances, concerts, parties, debates on current issues, and training courses are often held. In the summer months the headquarters of the Association are available to those who want to take advantage of the outdoor spaces to play or relax, just by entering the gate! In the period between June and July, theatrical performances are normally held every Saturday evening, with the possibility of outdoor dining. Fixed annual appointments are the New Year's Eve, Carnival, the foot race, the celebration of the SS. Peter and Paul in June, the Chestnut Festival in autumn, Christmas Eve. Every Friday evening there is a meeting place for young people and adults with board games and clubs. The Association is always interested in carrying out new activities suggested by members and visitors.
RELIGIOUS INFLUENCE
At “La Tenda” you can volunteer with different levels of involvement and commitment, from the simplest to the most profound. Volunteering in “La Tenda” means, above all, taking care of people’s meetings, of cultural activities, recreation, entertainment at any age, and expressing the wish to offer anyone the opportunity to experience such fundamental moments in everyone’s life, all together for a while.
