The initiative : "A better life together", is the best response to the fear of the other and the intolerance, which has been growing these past years in our country.
The initiative "Living Together"is based on dialogue. This dialogue is based on a secular place, a principle which states that the Government is clearly separated from religions, and where beliefs and convictions are all valued.
For nearly 20 years, the Fontaine aux Religions (Fountain of Religions) promotes inter religious and inter convictional dialogues in favor of "Living Together", mainly in the East Parisian area,
HISTORICAL RELEVANCE The association, which name was given based on the name of the street where it was created in Paris 11th district, would initially start with plans of world tours between 2005 and 2010; which are inter religious marches, uniting the church, the temple, the synagogue and the mosque.
Later on, between 2011 and 2015, the foundation organises local debates in religious sites, animated by both a religious and a scientist, about different themes (education, forbidden foods...)
INTER-RELIGIOUS RELEVANCE A month after the attacks on the 13th of November, the foundation organizes on the 13 of December 2015, a recollecting and debate night, where 6 communities expressed themselves: muslims, jews, catholics, protestants, buddhists, atheist/agnostics.
Every time there is an event, the foundation organizes the encounter in a different location, in mosques, churches, temples...
RELIGIOUS INFLUENCE What is specific to this foundation is that there is no predominant faith, every single member has his own opinion and they are gathering to talk, debate, and share their point of view with respect and understanding.
This action is starting to spread and gain recognition as in mai 2016 with another secular foundation named Ernest, they organized in front of the Omar Mosque a public meal with 120 plates. The mayor of the 11th district of Paris came to the meal to show his support.
HOW TO USE WITH THE STUDENTS First students may want to visit the website and contact directly the foundation, since the meetings are in different locations, asking is the best way to know where the next meeting will take place.
